hoover park was a seriously CRAZY place to see a show. smack in the middle of a really sketchy neighborhood in the middle of the territory of some gang that didn’t much like punk rockers…. OPIV played another show around this time at another sketchy place called toberman hall, with ill repute, isocracy, reason to believe and another band or two. all was going well until ill repute hit the stage. they were going through a “metal” period and after about three songs, the audience decided it had had enough and attacked the band (prompted by the bassist punching someone for throwing a shoe at him) a full-on riot broke out inside and outside the club. last thing i remember seeing as we left was someone shooting at a helicopter with a shotgun…..
